Traffic Safety Day at the Nutley High School
Students working on the artwork

Nikhil Badlani Foundation celebrated Traffic Safety Day at the Nutley High School on January 10, 2014.

The day included creating traffic safety artwork, made possible through a grant from State Farm. Members of the Foundation met the students to brainstorm on their observation of traffic safety issues, prior to this day. Students then worked in groups to sketch out their ideas which they presented. On January 10, the children of Nutley High School came together to complete the artwork under the stewardship of artist, Cindy Klein and the High School art teacher, Ms. Theresa Lappostato. The artwork is a collage composed primarily of paint and tissue paper. The artwork titled "Right Choice, Better Future" is displayed permanently at the school and will be a constant reminder of the choices students face when driving. Students also participated in a contest to title the artwork. The winning title was submitted by freshman, Cassidy Reidy.

The students also participated in traffic safety trivia on the Traffic Safety Day. The foundation teamed up with Andy Anderson, President of Traffic Officers Association of Essex County, who conducted the trivia. The students were excited and very enthusiastic in their participation.
