    General    

  1. Where do the donations from Event go? The Event supports The Nikhil Badlani Foundation mission which is to expand and enhance the lives of underserved children in West Orange, New Jersey and neighboring communities through individualized lessons for talented musicians, scholarships for graduating seniors and traffic safety awareness and education for all.  Every step you run and every dollar you raise helps the Foundation meet its objective.
  2. Where is the event located? In-person wil be held at West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Avenue West Orange, New Jersey.  See 'Event Info" for Direction and Event Details. 
  3. What time does the bike ride start? The 5K Bike ride will begin at 8:15am EDT.
  4. What time does the race start? The race will begin at 9:30am EDT.
  5. What time does the walk start? The walk will begin approximately 15 minutes after the start of the race which will be at 9:45am EDT.
  6. Who can participate? Runners, Walkers and Bikers of all ages are encouraged to participate.
  7. Where can I park? There are multiple parking areas around the high school and also across the street at the Kelly Elementary School
  8. Why does my login from last year not work? You will need to set up a new login this year.
  9. How do virtual Participants share their results?  Virtual participants can share your results and photos on our Facebook page.
  10. How do I become a sponsor? We have Sponsorship Opportunity forms on the Sponsor tab with more details. Please contact Sangeeta Badlani at 973-979-6804 to discuss sponsorship opportunities
  11. Can I bring a stroller? Yes, the walk will accommodate strollers!  However, if you are participating in the run with a stroller we please ask that you line up at the end of the line. 
  12. Can I bring my dog? Unfortunately, the city of West Orange does not allow dogs at the run or on the walk course.
  13. Will the event be canceled if it rains? No, this event is taking place rain or shine! 
  14. Where can I pick up my T-shirt? T-shirts will be mailed to you if you clicked on "Ship" at the time of registration. T-shirts will be available for pick up prior to the event. Pick-up dates TBD. T-Shirts can also be picked up on the day of the event, Sunday, September 19th at the Registration Tent.
  15. Can I make my own T-shirt? Yes. Teams are welcome to make and wear their own t-shirts for the event.  All participants are guaranteed a free T-shirt if they register by August 15, 2021.

 

  Registration  

  1. How much is registration? The registration fee to participate in the run/walk is $27 for all participants over 14 years of age. Registration for children between ages 5 & 13 is $17. Kids (5 and under) are free. Registration fee increses by $3 after September 17, 2021.
  2. What is included in my registration? T-shirt is included in the registration fee and guaranteed if registered by August 15, 2021.
  3. Do I need to set up a new login if I had one before? Yes, each year you will need to set up a new login.
  4. How do I form a team? It's simple! Click "CREATE A TEAM" on the Registration Tab, fill out your information and Team Registration Details.  You can even add a team image and personal message on the Team Fundraising Page!  Team Captain's are also sent an additional email that can be forwarded to friends and family!
  5. How do I join a team? Click "JOIN A TEAM" on the Registration tab, Select Team, and then fill out your personal information and event details. You will setup a login to establish your own personal fundraising page within the Team.
  6. Can I register as an individual? Yes! On the Registration Tab - Click "JOIN AS AN INDIVIDUAL", fill out your personal information and event details. You will setup a login to establish your own personal fundraising page. 
  7. Can I register more than one person? Yes! Once you fill out your own registration details and click “Add Participant”, you will have the opportunity to register additional participants.
  8. I registered as an individual and want to change my registration to be a member of a team. How can this be done? Using the Contact Tab Option – submit a form request with your name and the name of the team you would like to join.  You will receive a response within 24 hours. 
  9. Can I change my race type? Yes, Use the Contact Option – submit a form with your request. You will receive a response within 24 hours. 
  10. What time does Online Registration close? Online Registration will remain open until midnight on Friday, September 17, 2021.
  11. Can I register for the event the day of? Yes. We encourage all participants to register ahead of time (online!) to guarantee that you will receive a t-shirt.  However, you will be able to register at the Registration Tent in person starting at 7:30am on event day, September 19th. Bike riders will not be able to register after 8 AM. Runners and Walkers, please arrive prior to 8:15am to ensure registration is completed on time.

 

  Fundraising  

  1. How do I access my fundraising page?  Use your login credentials that you set up at the time of registration to sign in to your fundraising page.
  2. How do I fundraise? Team Captains and individuals with login's will receive an email that can be forwarded to your friends, family and coworkers. Encourage them to register/donate to your fuandraising page.
  3. Can my company match my donation?  Yes, please check with your company if they match donations to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations.

 

  Run 

  1. What time does the race start?  The race will begin at 9:30am EDT.
  2. How far is the run? The run is 5K or 3.1 miles.
  3. Is this a certified course? Yes, our course is a USATF certified course!
  4. Where is the starting line of the race? The starting line of the race is on the footbal field/track of the West Orange High School. Refer to the “Event Info” tab for a detailed course map.
  5. How do I receive my bib number & T-shirt? Bibs can be picked up at the Registration Tent on the day of the race. For Team Captains we will arrange pre-pickup of T-Shirts, if preferred. 
  6. How soon can I get my official time after the 5K? Immediately! A mobile webpage will be provided to view your official time on your smartphone.

 

  Walk  

  1. What time does the walk start? The walk will begin approximately 15 minutes after the start of the race which will be at 9:45am EDT.
  2. How far is the walk? The walk is approximately two miles.
  3. I want to pick up my T-shirt before the race. Can I do that? Yes, pick-up dates will be communicated closer to the event. T-shirts will also be available at the Registration Tent the morning of the walk. 
  4. Do I need a bib number to participate in the walk? No, please note that walk participants will not be timed.

 

  Bike Ride  

  1. What time does the 5K Bike Ride start? The bike ride will begin at 8:15am EDT.
  2. How far is the bike ride? The bike ride is approximately 5K or 3.1 miles.
  3. I want to pick up my T-shirt before the bike ride. Can I do that? Yes, pick-up dates will be communicated closer to the event. T-shirts will also be available, while supplies last, at the Registration Tent the morning of the walk. 
  4. Do I need a bib number to participate in the bikeride? No, please note that bike participants will not be timed.
