8th Annual Stop For Nikhil Run/Walk - September 16, 2018

We were fortunate and dodged the wrath from hurricane Florence. It was a sunny and beautiful morning. The pre-ceremony began with a STOP For Nikhil cheer from the WO Mountaineer cheerleaders followed by a warm-up by KerboomKidz, an energetic and challenging dance exercise program.

Boys Scouts Troop 6 kicked off the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an instrumental rendition of Star Spangled Banner by the Music For Nikhil Group. West Orange Mayor welcomed the participants and introduced Essex County Executive Joseph N. DiVincenzo Jr. Both Mayor Parisi and County Executive Joe D. praised the Foundation for their traffic safety initiatives and contribution to the community.

The Nikhil Badlani Foundation Inspiration award went to Donna Setaro, mother of deceased NJ straight trooper Marc Castalleno who was killed in the line of duty when a driver failed to slow down and move over. Since then she has been educating students about the "Move Over" law. This year she hit the 100,000 mark!

We had over 800 attendees and raised over $50K! The morning was filled with activities for kids, games, face painting, raffle and food. Participants created their own STOP signs which will be displayed around the West Orange.

Look forward to your presence at the 9th Annual STOP For Nikhil Run/Walk next year.
