Nikhil had a passion for music from an early age. He excelled at piano, but especially loved playing the trumpet. At age 11, Nikhil auditioned for and was accepted into the prestigious Youth Orchestras of Essex County (YOEC). One of the program’s requirements was that students take private lessons in addition to their school music education. Nikhil was excited to begin his first individual trumpet lesson on June 15th, but tragically, he never made it to that lesson.

In the wake of this tragedy, we realized that while Nikhil was unable to continue pursuing his passion for music, many talented young musicians are unable to reach their full potential due to financial constraints. From this realization, Music for Nikhil was created to provide underserved children with access to music lessons and opportunities at no cost to their families.
