Mobilizing Pain and Grief to make our Streets Safer.
Founded in 2017, Families for Safe Streets New Jersey (FSS NJ) is a community of crash survivors and families whose lives have been forever changed by traffic violence.
In partnership with the Tri-State Transportation Campaign, FSS NJ provides support, builds community, and gives families a way to turn pain and grief into advocacy for safer streets.
Together, we work to ensure that no other family has to experience the preventable loss or serious injury of a loved one on our roads.
Families for Safe Streets New Jersey is guided by shared values rooted in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that every traffic death is preventable.
- Movement Building: We welcome survivors, families, advocates, and community partners committed to safer streets.
- Collective Action: We work together to reduce traffic violence through advocacy, storytelling, education, and policy change.
- Inclusivity: We strive to represent and support individuals and families from all backgrounds impacted by traffic violence.
