Stop on Red Week
NATIONAL STOP ON RED WEEK – August 2-8, 2015
National Stop on Red Week is observed annually in the first week of August. It was started in 2001 to promote safe driving practices and to reinforce to drivers the absolute necessity of always stopping on red traffic lights, by the National Campaign to Stop Red Light Running.
Red-light running is a serious safety issue that caused 683 deaths and 133,000 injuries in 20131.
Please consider taking the Safety Pledge to Nikhil, that among other things asks drivers to give themselves an additional five minutes to get to their destination.
We also encourage you to visit The National Council of Safer Roads that has a lot of interesting facts and personal stories of the families affected by red light running.
